What Is A Telescoping Banner Stand?

You may be asking yourself, what is the difference between a telescoping banner stand and a stand with a telescopic pole – they are the same thing aren’t they? In actual fact, they are completely different and if you are looking for a low-cost solution to getting a dramatic back drop to your trade show display, this could be the solution you are looking for.

Whereas the telescopic kind usually have rollup graphics with a single upright pole at the back and gets its name because the pole can be pulled out to the desired height, a telescoping banner stand comprises a frame with two uprights and a top and bottom stretcher bar onto which the panel is placed – usually by means of a sleeve or pocket at the top and the bottom of the fabric into which the top and bottom poles slide.

The frame is made in most cases, from lightweight aluminium tubing and the width of this depends on the size of the graphics panels you want to display. The base of larger units may be made from heavy steel for stability. All of them though are designed so that panels with a two inch deep pocket will slide on with ease.

The beauty of this system is that one frame can be adjusted to fit many different sizes of advertising message. The upright poles are usually adjustable between 36” and 96” in height. The minimum width of one of these units is usually 36” but they can be much bigger, a standard frame telescoping out to around 8 feet and extension kits are available to take this to 10 or even 12 feet in width. This makes them suitable for use as a backdrop for a table top as well as for use as a floor standing display and also makes it possible to utilise more than one narrower printed image of the same height to be displayed in a single frame.

Because the graphic panel is fixed to a top and bottom pole and suspended between the uprights of the frame, the edges are protected from damage during the show and a wide variety of materials can be used making it easy to create the effect you want. For travel to and from trade shows and for storage in between, carry cases are available ensuring that everything is stowed away safely and ready for use when required.

Telescoping banner stands, whilst not as light as their telescopic roller banner stand counterparts, do offer a number of benefits to the user in terms of their adaptability and the way they can be used to create a graphic wall very quickly and effectively and for minimal outlay.
