Retractable Banner Stands

Retractable banner stands originally provided an amazingly effective and easy to use tool for exhibitors at trade shows to add impact to their stands, to promote special show offers and so on. These roller banner stands also appear in many other locations, as point of sale advertising stands, in hotel and cinema foyers and as exhibition and museum signage.

retractable banner stands base cassette and upright poleRetractable banner stands usually comprise a weighted base which takes the form of a cassette into which the graphic is loaded. Sometimes the graphic is loaded in by the supplier when a new one is ordered, in other models the graphic can easily be changed by the user, enabling one stand frame to be used for several different applications simply by changing the graphics banner. The panel has a rigid bar at the top and when pulled up, it affixes to a central, upright pole which may be telescopic or sectional so that it packs away neatly into a carrying bag with the cassette.

These stands are hugely popular, not just because of their light weight and the ease with which they can be transported and assembled in seconds by one person without any assistance or the need for tools. They are also very practical as the fact that the graphic rolls back inside the prospective cassette, means that it safe in transit and storage and is much less likely to need replacing except when it becomes obsolete.

pull down retractable banner standNewer retractable banner stands are now available as a pull down banner (as opposed to the traditional ‘pull up’ one). These banners are often quite large and fit between the pillars of a frame which can be adjusted for banners of different sizes. This type of banner stand enables a whole stand to be easily created, just using retractable banners as extra sections can be added and the banners can be placed in a line or at angles to one another making corners and T, L or central island shapes.

Three or more of these stands could make a small stand with two sides and a back wall which is amazingly quick and easy to assemble and can be taken to the show by just one member of staff in an ordinary car. As mentioned above, the graphics are stored inside protective cassettes so they are unlikely to be damaged. The added advantage to the pull down type of stand is that the upright pillars of the frame also protect the edges of the graphics banners in situ – so there is even less likelihood of them becoming scuffed or torn during the show itself.

Anyone thinking of adding versatility to their stand and adding extra impact to their stand graphics should definitely take a look at the wide range of retractable banner stands on the market of both the pull up and the pull down types and perhaps even equip themselves with the means to make a second stand for their company should the need arise to be at two shows at the same time.
